Welcome to Old Basing Archers

Archery: The ultimate sport for all

Old Basing Archers is a friendly club with its range at the recreation ground in Old Basing, Hampshire.

Formed in 1967, its membership spans all abilities from novice to county level, all ages from juniors to veterans and all disciplines: barebow, compound, longbow and recurve.

During the summer, we shoot weekend mornings and most weekday evenings. We also run several all-day shoots for club members as well as open shoots including the AndOBA world record status WA1440 (Old Basing Archers is the joint organiser with Andover Archers) and our popular Siege Shoot.

During the winter months, weekly indoor shooting sessions are held at the village hall as well as outdoor weekend shoots at the recreation ground. The club regularly competes in the British Archer winter postal competitions.

Old Basing Archers is a family-oriented archery club and has special membership rates for juniors and family groups.

New to archery?

We run courses throughout the spring and summer for those who are new to the sport. Details can be found here.

Having completed one of our beginners’ courses, archers are eligible to join Archery GB, which includes the insurance needed to shoot with any affiliated archery club.

We hope you will also join Old Basing Archers, where you will receive a warm welcome and ongoing support. New archers may use the basic club equipment or hire modern equipment from the club. This allows the novice archery to develop their technique to a level where investment in their own equipment is justified.

Old Basing Archers is affiliated to:

The Hampshire Archery Association, Southern Counties Archery Society and Archery GB.
